Woman having blood pressure measuredYou may find that lifestyle changes are not enough and you will also need to take medication to help control your blood pressure within the target range of less than 130/80mmHg. There are a number of different treatments which might be prescribed, but your doctor will be able to discuss these with you and advise on the best choice for you.  More than one type of medication may be needed to control your blood pressure. Once it is under control, it is important to continue taking your medication until your doctor tells you otherwise.
