Alternatives to injecting insulin

Researchers have, for some considerable time, been looking for non-invasive ways in which to administer insulin. These have included insulin nasal and oral sprays, patches, tablets and inhalers. After many years of work, some of the methods being researched are showing a degree of success, although it will be some time yet before these devices are available to people with diabetes in the UK (and elsewhere in the world).
