The only one in this group is Dapagliflozin.
SGLT2 Inhibitors work in the following ways:
- Reducing the amount of glucose being absorbed in the kidneys so that it is passed out in the urine,
- Reducing the amount of glucose in your blood.
It is taken once a day. Because of the way it works, your urine will test positive for glucose while you are on this medication. How effective it is depends on your kidney function. There is a risk of genital infections and urinary tract infections.
