'I manage my glucose better, eat the right food and have overcome the weight"
I was diagnosed seven yearss ago and was put straight onto insulin as I was so poorly even though I had type 2. I had already lost my feet to diabetic neuropathy as they had felt like wood for years and I had tried to find out why without success.
The NHS did not find my diabetes regardless of the history taking when changing GP's. I found it when I went to the free Lloyds Pharmacy checkup. My glucose was 17 and they said to go straight to the hospital. I went home and cried for a fortnight before going to my doctor.
Now I manage my glucose better, eat mostly the 'right' food, and have just finally managed to overcome the weight I put on with the insulin - I have been doing an hour of aerobics most days with my Wii fit plus! Marvelous gadget.
Wii fit has changed my life as I am fitter and less down about the ability to shift the weight. Yes, I am still obese but now I have hope.
