Mr Cooper first heard about Diabetes UK Insurance Services for travel insurance after seeing the service in a leaflet on display in his local surgery. ‘I used to arrange travel insurance through my bank, but the price they quoted this year was excessive, and I had called around six other companies before seeing the leaflet about your service. So, I noted down the number and gave you a call and received a splendid quotation!’
Mr Cooper was also interested to hear about the different Gold, Silver and Bronze levels – ‘The gold level was approximate to what I had been quoted by other companies, but the silver level covered my needs and reduced the cost by fifty pounds.’
Something else that was of value was the fact that we send out details of the different quotations in the post for consideration – ‘Everything was spelled out, so I could read over the details I had declared on the phone. I think this is so very important, because sometimes you can worry afterwards if you have given the correct answer.’
With this additional reassurance, Mr Cooper decided to call us back and purchase the policy – ‘I decided to call back, we just slightly altered the dates and the price accordingly, and everything was arranged…and I think it’s excellent that I’m 80 years old and there’s no problem with you covering me!’
