East Midlands
The role of Diabetes UK's regional offices is to influence healthcare provision and improve services for people with diabetes at a local level, together with raising awareness and funds for diabetes and Diabetes UK.
Almost 185,000 people in the East Midlands have been diagnosed with diabetes and up to 35,000 other people may have the condition but not know it.
Since our launch in 2005, our East Midlands office has provided local information, advice and support for people with diabetes, healthcare professionals and government agencies.
Diabetes UK East Midlands invites all volunteers in the region to join us at our 75th anniversary reception. Guest speakers include our Presdient Richard Lane OBE, Frank Moxon (Trustee) and host Douglas Smallwood (Chief Executive). This event is a celebration for volunteers who help to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.

Amy Voce (Heart 106), Dawn Mallender (Diabetes UK), Sam Pinkham (Heart 106)
The Diabetes UK East Midlands team held their very own Care for a Cuppa party on Friday 19 June at Edin’s Café in Nottingham. The event was attended by invited Diabetes UK supporters as well as passers by and people who had heard about the event through other means. Heart 106 presenters, Sam and Amy also joined us for a cuppa and entertainment was provided by local string quartet, Sounds Interesting.
