Tesco Charity Partner of the Year 2013/14
The partnership with Tesco was announced on 4 March 2013 naming us as their Charity of the Year.
It has been described as a partnership that will take Diabetes UK to a new level, aiming to raise £10 million in order to transform the lives of those living with diabetes and those who are at risk.
The funds raised will allow us to achieve three things:
- Provide life-changing support to people who are just diagnosed, or already living, with the condition, helping them to feel better equipped to manage their diabetes.
- Run an awareness campaign that could help thousands of people avoid Type 2 diabetes diagnosis by reversing their risk.
- A significant funding boost into research for a vaccine that makes a future without Type 1 diabetes a possibility and has the potential to break new ground in diabetes research.

The partnership with Tesco will also see a nationwide collection weekend on the 4, 5 and 6 October.
