Diabetes UK Eastern
Adjusting to the knowledge that you or a member of your family has diabetes takes time and it is often helpful to meet other people who live with diabetes and have been through a similar situation. They can offer understanding, help and support at an important time. A good way of finding this help is to join a local support group – one of our Diabetes UK voluntary groups.
Diabetes UK Voluntary Groups are part of Diabetes UK and are ultimately governed by the charity's board of trustees and their organisation and activities are regulated through a Charter.

Groups in your area
The voluntary groups in the Eastern region are all run voluntarily by local volunteers. Voluntary groups can offer you local information and support, and the chance to meet other people who live with diabetes. Voluntary groups can also offer you the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities including fundraising for diabetes research and other aspects of Diabetes UK's work and services.
All of our Voluntary Groups are always keen to meet new faces at their meetings and gain new members. Arthur Smart from the Wisbech Voluntary Group has recently been on Popcorn TV in order to promote within the area.

If you'd like more information about any of the following groups please email our volunteer development officer, Laurence Barker. We also have family groups, which cater for children with diabetes and their parents.
