The role of Diabetes UK's regional offices is to influence healthcare provision and improve services for people with diabetes at a local level, together with raising awareness and funds for diabetes and Diabetes UK.
Diabetes UK East Midlands and West Midlands regional offices have now merged to become Diabetes UK Midlands.
The newly formed Midlands region will now cover a population of approximately 10 million people, two strategic health authorities, 26 primary care trusts, and over 40 NHS trusts.
It is also estimated that there is a diabetes population of 455,000.
