North West

The role of Diabetes UK's regional offices is to influence healthcare provision and improve services for people with diabetes at a local level, together with raising awareness and funds for diabetes and Diabetes UK.
What we are doing in the North West:
- Organise conferences for healthcare professionals and awareness days for people with diabetes, their carers, families and friends.
- Work with the NHS to promote the continual improvement in services for all people with diabetes.
- Develop projects on diabetes in ethnic minority communities and making available leaflets, audio and video tapes in five Asian languages and Cantonese.
- Run training programmes to help lay representatives engage effectively with healthcare professionals to help take diabetes agendas forward.
- Campaign for improvements in healthcare for people with diabetes and supporting the Diabetes Campaigners Network and its members.
- Offer youngsters with diabetes the chance to attend a Diabetes UK holiday.
- Raise vital funds to enable Diabetes UK to continue work in areas such as research and care.
- Work with other voluntary organisations to encourage people with diabetes to have their say.
