Manchester Diabetes Focus Week 11-15 March

The future of diabetes to be discussed at the Diabetes UK Professional Conference in Manchester

From the 13-15 March, Manchester will be host to one of the largest health conferences in the UK - the Diabetes UK Professional Conference, with more than 3,000 attendees coming together to look at the latest in diabetes research under this year’s theme, ‘The future of diabetes: putting evidence into practice’.

The Diabetes UK Professional Conference is the only event of its kind in the UK held for healthcare professionals and scientists working in the field of diabetes. More than 500 research studies will be presented in the form of oral and poster abstracts on topics ranging from stem cell and islet cell technology, sexual dysfunction, bariatric management and clinical care in pregnancy, among many others.

Julie Byron, Diabetes UK North West Regional Managers, said: “Diabetes is such a serious health issue for the UK, there are 172,600 people living with diabetes across Greater Manchester alone, so we are really pleased that Manchester is hosting this important Professional Conference. The Diabetes UK Professional Conference is part of Manchester Diabetes Focus Week from the 11 – 15 March and we really want to get all of Greater Manchester taking action on diabetes.”
