Working with Government and Parliament
Diabetes UK Scotland also works closely with the Scottish Government and Parliament.
We work closely with Scottish Government ministers and civil servants to ensure that diabetes related issues have a high profile, which policy reflects the needs of people living with diabetes and that high quality services are delivered.
We also engage with the Scottish Parliament in a number of ways. We provide briefings for MSPs and committees, we suggest questions to be asked, draft motions and support the work of the Cross Party Group on Diabetes.
Diabetes UK Scotland has also been closely involved in the development and implementation of the Scottish Diabetes Framework. We are members of the Scottish Diabetes Group, which oversees imwplementation of the Framework and serve on a number of its sub-groups. Our survey of members' views of the Framework plays a key role in the updating of the Framework and the publication of the Scottish Diabetes Framework Action Plans.
