Patient Opinion

Having the right care, advice and support is essential for the wellbeing of all people with diabetes.

As part of a new partnership with Patientopinion.org.uk we would like to hear about your experiences of diabetes care from the NHS, good or bad.  Patient Opinion is an independent, not for profit organisation who run a website where you can share those experiences.

Diabetes UK Scotland will automatically receive any diabetes stories shared from all over Scotland and we will respond with comment or advice when we feel it’s helpful.    Stories will also be shared with local health services who  will also have the opportunity to respond and to show what they plan to do with the feedback.

This is a great way for us to get feedback, nationally, on how you feel about your health services.

So is your NHS getting right for everyone with diabetes?  Tell us and the NHS what you think.

Are your getting your 15 essential health checks (PDF, 164KB)?

Healthy feet for life

Did you know that People with diabetes are more likely to be admitted to hospital with a foot ulcer than with any other complication of diabetes? This is because diabetes may lead to poor circulation and reduced feeling in the feet.  Are you and your health care professional putting your  feet first?

Do you have your feet checked as part of your annual review?

Do you know your Foot Risk score?

Here are some stories tagged with diabetes already shared on the Patient Opinion website.   We would encourage you to share yours here.
