Joint South East and London Networking Day 2007
On Saturday 24 March the South East and London regions held a joint Networking day for voluntary groups, members of the Diabetes Campaign Network and User Representatives.

Over 90 people attended the event. Dr Iain Frame, Research Manager, gave a talk on Diabetes UK Research, delegates were able to network, and they had the opportunity to feed back in the Hot Topics session. Additionally, Bridget Turner, Head of Healthcare & Policy, highlighted the changes in the structure of the NHS. Raj Johal, Volunteer Development Officer – Campaigns, rounded the day off with tips on influencing locally through individual campaigning.

The day was a great success and has been very highly evaluated. Jill Steaton, South East Regional Manager, said: "The day's agenda promised the event to be a success. It is great that the two regions can get together and share good practice. The agenda was set from the feedback that we received at last year’s event. We would like to thank all our volunteers for their continued support and hard work."
