Diabetes UK Cymru launches foot campaign with Love Your Feet Day
Diabetes UK Cymru wants the people of Wales with diabetes to love their feet because if you have diabetes, foot problems can be serious. Every year, hundreds of toes, feet and legs get surgically amputated in Wales because of a complication of diabetes called neuropathy, or nerve damage.
To encourage a positive attitude to foot care, Diabetes UK Cymru held a Love Your Feet Day at the City United Reformed Church in Windsor Place, Cardiff on Wednesday June 13 from 10am-2pm. There were NHS and private podiatrists on hand to offer free foot checks, refreshments, stalls and plenty of advice and information.
The day marked the launch of Diabetes UK Cymru's Putting Feet First campaign - you can read about this on the news pages.
A brand new leaflet - Top Ten Tips for Healthy Feet – has been published to coincide with the campaign launch. You can download it in English and Welsh here.
