This years Gwobrau Cymru was as glamorous as ever....the red carpet was down, bucks fizz at the ready to welcome our wonderful volunteers from across Wales to join us in celebrating volunteering at Diabetes UK. Joe Cuff fundraising manager at Diabetes UK Cymru recieved over £30,000 in cheques from voluntary groups and individual fundraisers across Wales. Melanie Stephenson spoke about her experience being a torch bearer for the Olympics and being nominated by Diabetes UK Cymru and how much of an honour that was for her. We finished the evening with our first ever Inspire Awards in Wales. The winners of these fantastic awards are listed below.

In addition to our Inspire awards two additional awards were presented, both awards have been with the charity for a number of years and represents the dedication of volunteers in supporting Diabetes UK, and working hard to make a change in the Diabetes Services across Wales . This year the Mair Eluned Redmond award was presented to Rachel, Marc and Cerys Bennett and the Directors award to Wendy Gane. A huge congratulations to all of this years award winners, and also to all volunteers nominated to win an award.
