Increase fibre

Include plenty of fruit, vegetables, beans and pulses in your diet.

Use pulses such as peas, beans or lentils to replace some of the meat in traditional recipes for shepherd’s pie, casseroles and lasagne.

Tinned beans are more convenient to use but can be more expensive than dried ones.

Brown rice, pasta or wholemeal bread contain more fibre than the white varieties – but enjoy all types available
