Aims: The course aims to promote development of a sound body of knowledge that will positively influence the practice of professionals providing clinical services to clients with diabetes within an inter-professional care environment.

Venue: Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, Chalfont Campus, Faculty of Health, Gorelands Lane, Chalfont St. Giles, Bucks HP8 4AD.
The course runs in February and September each year.

Length: The course is delivered on a part-time basis and consists of three two day blocks over a 12 week period.
Costs: £288-*subject to increase in September 2006
Type of study   Attendance on campus.
Entry criteria  The course is open to all Health Professionals providing clinical services and care to people with diabetes in primary, secondary and tertiary care settings in the independent and NHS sector with a health related professional qualification, eg. Registered Nurse and 120 credit at Level 1 or equivalent.
Places available:  20-30 places available per course
How achievement is assessed: Students are assessed by submitting a 2,500 word reflective assignment analysing an aspect of practice in the student's practice area.
Students are also required to spend 1 day in an area where diabetes care is managed. Students will be expected to write a summary of the visit and share their experience and learning gained from the visit with their peers on the final day of the course.
Teaching methods:  A variety of teaching methods are used: Lectures, tutor-led discussions, student presentations, group work and virtual learning during the inter-block period via Blackboard.
