Aims
The Intensive management programme in Type 2 diabetes is designed to provide advanced skills to enable effective management of people with Type 2 diabetes including insulin initiation.
Length structure
Three days
Type of study
The course runs over three days depending upon local arrangements for continuing professional development.
Entry criteria
To be eligible, health care professionals will be actively involved in diabetes management within their own practice and wish to develop skills to initiate insulin in the future. Where the GP and practice nurse are involved in diabetes management within their practice, both should attend the course.
Teaching methods
The course content will be delivered through presentations, small group work, case studies and practical demonstrations.
