Royal Derby Hospital

Royal Derby Hospital deliver an integrated diabetes service giving people access to services in a community setting while bridging the gap with specialist services. The organisation is working towards building sustainable mechanisms for service users to influence delivery of diabetes services by feeding into decision-making.

Diabetes UK are working with Royal Derby to establish a user group in each of the five locality areas making up the organisation’s patch; helping them develop effective terms of reference, role descriptions for members and to recruit appropriate people. We will then assist them to set up an over-arching user reference group which will represent each of the localities and feed directly into the Clinical Management Team.
