This prestigious award is presented to the author of the winning abstract that, in the judges' opinion, has contributed most to the advancement of the understanding of Type 2 diabetes and its treatment.
The award winner will receive a research grant of £1,000.
The award aims to encourage and recognise clinical research in the field of Type 2 diabetes. This award was introduced several years ago on the retirement of Hazel Rose, as an acknowledgement of her valuable contribution to the diabetes field.
Successful research includes physiological and metabolic measures, clinical pharmacology, epidemiology and treatment and evaluation of services.
Eligibility: Invited to enter are UK-based clinical registrars or senior registrars in training with career interests in diabetes and ongoing, or recently completed clinical research relating to Type 2 diabetes.
