This award, supported by Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust, is awarded for the best basic or clinical science oral abstract presentation at the Annual Professional Conference.
The award is made in recognition of Professor CN (Nick) Hales FRS who made enormous contributions to the fight against diabetes through his innovative and imaginary research, his mentorship of young scientists and his academic leadership.
Nick’s raison d’etre was to exploit the highest quality science to improve the understanding, prevention and treatment of diabetes and this award hopes to encourage young researchers to emulate this.
Eligibility: Open to basic and clinical science researchers under 35 years of age.
Award value: £1,000
Award type: Oral presentation
