As a member of the Working Party for the “Improving emergency and inpatient care for people with diabetes” report, Diabetes UK was asked to gather the inpatient experiences of people with diabetes. As a result Diabetes UK used its publications, website, and contacts to call for inpatient experiences.
Fifty responses have been received and seven strong themes emerged from these experiences. Extracts from the experiences received have been collated and presented in relation to the relevant theme. Some extracts are repeated where they are relevant to more than one theme.
