A toolkit to support the assessment of structured education programmes for people with diabetes has been developed by Diabetes UK, the Department of Health and the National Diabetes Support Team.

The toolkit, aimed at service commissioners, educators and local diabetes communities clearly explains the existing key criteria. It enables commissioners and providers to assess their programmes against these criteria and provides support to work on any identified gaps.

The toolkit provides self assessment forms and tools which can be completed electronically or manually. Completion does not lead to accreditation, however you can share your responses with Diabetes UK or the National Diabetes Support Team if you wish.
