NICE Quality Standard: Diabetes in Adults

The government has signalled a significant role for the NICE Quality Standards in informing the commissioning and delivery of high quality care in England.

NICE has developed a Quality Standard for Diabetes in Adults, containing 13 Quality Statements.

The Standards are aimed at commissioners, service providers, healthcare professionals and patients.

Their purpose is to define high quality care and be used to:

  • inform the commissioning of services
  • provide people with information about what care they should expect to receive
  • support healthcare professionals to provide evidenced based care
  • support service improvement.
