As a key partner of the National Diabetes Audit (NDA), Diabetes UK is responsible for:
- overall governance of the NDA, via the NDA Partnership Board and Steering Groups (see organisational diagram, PDF, 89KB)
- engagement with the NDA, by working with healthcare professionals, commissioners and people with diabetes to encourage their participation in the audit, and to enable them to use the NDA to inform service improvements.
A vital element of Diabetes UK’s role is to ensure that there is patient and clinical representation, and that they are actively involved in NDA activities, developments and reports.
Diabetes UK is committed to ensuring that people with diabetes receive high-quality care wherever they live, and that they know what care to expect. The NDA data and analysis provides us with the evidence to show how services are measuring up. Through Diabetes Watch, we will assess and monitor the real delivery of services in different areas of diabetes care. We will also work alongside our Diabetes Voices to push for service improvements by campaigning and influence.
