Aims

To enhance skills and confidence in facilitating group work. How to maximise and maintain group interaction, make sure everyone contributes, use skills to overcome difficult situations and ensure the group achieves its aims. Suitable for education, discussion, focus or meeting groups.

Venue

Arranged locally by workshop commissioners.

Length

One day.

Cost to student

£1,000 + VAT. Includes planning, preparation and delivery for up to 20 participants. Can be commissioned for local practices, services, specialist teams or across a CCG.

Type of study

Face-to-face workshop with supporting resources provided, including a complimentary copy per participant of the handbook ‘Group Education Facilitation Skills in Healthcare Settings’.

Entry criteria

Health professionals and other staff running education, discussion, focus or meeting groups that require skilled facilitation.

Places available

20 per workshop.

How achievement is assessed

Evaluation on the day of the workshop processes and learning outcomes. Success in achieving personal action plans created as part of the workshop.
