Diabetes UK is committed to involving people living with diabetes in the grant giving process.
To reflect this, Diabetes UK established the Grants Advisory Panel (GAP), made up of 15 people living with diabetes who advise on project grant applications.
Prior to the Research Committee meeting, the group meets to discuss all project grant applications and provide feedback to the Research Committee through the three members of GAP who also sit on the Research Committee.
Members of GAP are asked to comment on issues such as whether they feel the research is relevant and important to people living with diabetes.
