As stated in Diabetes UK’s Research Strategy research opportunities exist within the following three key areas:
- Care and treatment
- Cause and prevention
- Cure.
These represent broad topic areas where there are gaps in our current knowledge and which, if advanced by investment in research, have the potential to yield significant improvements for people with diabetes.
Investing in people and projects
Investing in research projects to explore new areas, and in people, to develop the best diabetes researchers for the future, has been central to Diabetes UK’s work and will continue to be the case.
What we offer
Diabetes UK will operate a range of research funding schemes and will offer research-training opportunities in the form of PhD studentships and research fellowships aimed at clinicians, scientists and others at different stages in their careers.
