Inspired by her gran’s death from Alzheimer's disease, Chi-chi Ekweozor aims to raise £777,000 for seven charities, including Diabetes UK, by visiting the Seven New Wonders of the World in seven days.
But she doesn’t want to do it on her own. She is looking for seven travel companions to join her on the trip.
Seven Wonders – seven charities
The Seven New Wonders of the World are the Taj Mahal in India, the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum in Rome, the Chichen Itza in Mexico, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Machu Picchu in Peru and Petra in Jordan.
She is fundraising for Alzheimer's Research Trust, Diabetes UK, Open Doors, Comic Relief through support of Sport Relief 2010, Feed the Minds, YoungMinds and Victory Outreach Manchester.
Create a YouTube video to win a holiday
She embarks on the trip on 10 October, 10/10/10. Before she leaves Chi-chi is running a YouTube competition to find seven companions to join her. Each lucky travel companion wins a three-day holiday to one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
To enter the competition simply create a 60-second YouTube video about what you would give as a dream donation to one of the seven charities and why. Enter now at http://www.7wondersin7days.com/enter/.
How does this help raise money for charity?
The idea is that each of the seven lucky winners of the Travel Companion Competitions will become 'fundraising ambassadors' for the project. This is because each travel companion's dream donation will become part of Chi-chi's £777,000 target.
All seven will also join Chi-chi’s fundraising team on the Virgin Money Giving website and will receive a personalised fundraising page. Using Virgin Money Giving's online donation platform means each donation will automatically be split between all seven charities. Follow this exciting adventure on Twitter or by joining Chi-chi’s Facebook page.
