What are the Inspire Awards?
Volunteers and local/community groups are a vital part of Diabetes UK. Every year, across the UK, thousands of people give their time to help provide care, support and raise awareness of diabetes.
Our Inspire Awards recognise the invaluable contribution of the volunteers and groups that go above and beyond for people with diabetes.
Regional and national winners
We are pleased to announce the regional and national winners for our local Inspire Awards. All winners (finalists) were placed in a pool and judged by our UK Inspire panel to determine the overall winner for each category.
Finalists were invited to attend the UK Inspire Award event on 5 July 2017 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

The awards are for the work that volunteers and groups have done in 2016. Our local and community groups contribute in diverse ways, across diverse communities and their work runs through everything we do. We would like to raise the profile of our groups and recognise them for this breadth of work. This year, rather than having a single group award, groups will be eligible for four awards to recognise and celebrate their achievements across a wide variety of different areas.
