Our dietary advice explained

dietitian.jpg

All the information on Enjoy Food is written and approved by highly qualified, registered dietitians who translate the latest public and scientific research into practical guidance to help people make healthy food choices.

All our tips, recipes and advice will support the work you do with your own dietitian, who will tailor an eating-plan to your individual needs.

People with diabetes should see a dietitian as soon as they are diagnosed and have regular, on-going reviews. If you haven’t seen a dietitian yet, ask your GP or consultant to refer you.

Our advice is to eat a healthy, balanced diet – which involves eating a variety of foods from each of the main food groups. The advice we give is based on scientific evidence that is widely accepted as being effective and safe long term. We recognise other diets, such as low-carb and low-calorie, exist but believe that to safely follow these you need to involve your healthcare professional or dietitian.

All the advice we give is general – your dietitian can give you more personal information as they will have detailed access to you and your medical history.
