What are Diabetes UK Type 1 Events?
They are the new name for the Diabetes UK Care Events.
Type 1 Events are a unique opportunity for children, teens, and families affected by Type 1 diabetes to meet others, share similar experiences and learn from each other. They will be well supported by our team of volunteers, which are either healthcare professionals or have personal experiences of living with diabetes, either themselves or through family and friends.
The events run throughout the year, all across the UK and are aimed at children, teens and families living with Type 1 diabetes. There is a programme of summer and autumn residential events for children and teens as well as family weekends.
Over 80 years of running these events has shown us the benefits from sharing and learning in a relaxed and safe environment. Anyone, from newly diagnosed to those living with diabetes for years, come away from the events having learnt something, made friends and quite often feeling more positive about living with Type 1 diabetes.
