Training and awareness courses

Many of us work with people with diabetes, or are at risk of developing diabetes ourselves. It’s time to get better informed. We provide a number of courses and awareness days that can help you find out more about diabetes.

Training for healthcare professionals who work with people with diabetes

Diabetes UK offers in-house and open training courses to provide an introduction to diabetes. Our trainers have vast experience and the latest medical knowledge, providing participants with practical skills as well as theory. We can often be flexible with the arrangements, and tailor courses or awareness days to suit your needs.

You can also access training online through our Diabetes in Healthcare introductory education tool.

See our training and competencies page for further information and advice.

Information was easy to understand and questions were answered well. It dispelled a lot of the myths surrounding Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Awareness days and events

Diabetes UK staff and volunteers are often able to attend your health awareness day or event to provide information and advice on diabetes. Contact your local team or email commissing@diabetes.org.uk to discuss your event.

We can also work with you to put on a one-day Know Your Risk awareness event at your workplace – a fun and interactive way for your colleagues to find out their risk of Type 2 diabetes.
