An emotional journey supporting loved ones with diabetes has inspired two garden designers to dream up a beautiful Show Garden for RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2019 (May 9-12).

Karen Tatlow and Katherine Hathaway have both been touched by the condition and have chosen to raise awareness by designing the first ever diabetes Show Garden.

South Warwickshire Diabetes UK Group is holding an all-day event in the town to raise awareness and understanding of diabetes.

 

The Living with Diabetes Awareness Day is being held on Saturday June 30 at the Royal Leamington Spa Town Hall.

A host of speakers will be giving up-to-date information on services and issues relating to the condition.

We're hosting a free event for people who live with, or are affected by diabetes, on Wednesday 30 May, 2018, at The Kindle Centre, Belmont Road, Hereford, HR2 7JE, from 6pm to 8pm.

The event will offer the opportunity to discuss how the condition is managed locally, learn how to live well with diabetes, and what support is available across the county.

A new group to support people living with or affected by diabetes is launching in Leicester supported by a team from DeMontfort University. 

The group’s first meeting will be held on Saturday, 28 April between 3pm and 5pm at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre, Rothley Street, Leicester.

A Burntwood woman has received a medal for living with diabetes for 50 years. 

Jan (pictured with her medal) has been married to her second husband for 25 years and has one son from her first marriage and two grandchildren. She revealed that she lived with terrible guilt for more than 40 years when her second son was stillborn.

Three-year-old Ava Wood (pictured above with her mum) fell ill in March this year and her parents Carrie and Simon were shocked when they were told she had the condition.
