What we are doing in the South East region
Diabetes UK South East is made up of a team of staff plus a wide network of volunteers and local groups.
There are 9 million people living across the south east of England, with over 640,000 people living with diabetes. We work locally to support people with diabetes and those at risk of developing diabetes to live well.
Collaborating with our Diabetes UK Local Groups, amazing volunteers and Diabetes Voices, we have achieved many successes across campaigning, volunteering and fundraising.
Campaigning
We work closely with key decision makers to ensure that people with diabetes receive good quality care.
Working with healthcare professionals and staff across the NHS
We raise awareness and knowledge of diabetes across the NHS to ensure people receive good quality care.
Raising Awareness
We work with our volunteers to raise awareness of diabetes and the work of Diabetes UK, by providing talks to schools, businesses and community groups.
Supporting people living with diabetes
We work with and support Diabetes UK local groups who provide local support to people with diabetes. We put on events to give people with diabetes the skills and knowledge to manage their diabetes.
Raise money
We help people across the region to raise vital money to help improve the lives of people with diabetes and fund important research into diabetes.
