In June ourWarminster support grouphosted a very successful public meeting focusing onfoot care.
The meeting gave people with diabetes the chance to find out the latest information about looking after their feet, to ask questions and talk through any concerns with a guest speaker chiropodist.
The vital importance of regularly checking your feet with ourTouch the Toes testwas dramatically highlighted when one member was diagnosed with a severe nail infection. Without prompt treatment it could have led to furthercomplications. Luckily for the participant, and to the surprise of everyone present, the chiropodist was able to remove the nail and treat the infection there and then!
Congratulations to our Warminster group for a memorable and informative evening helping members of the public to learn about the benefits of good foot care. They hold regular meetings to help support people with or affected by diabetes to find out more information and meet others in a friendly and social setting.
