This year our Taunton and District local support group had two special reasons to celebrate.
On 15 November they celebrated their 10th anniversary with a party.
For the past decade they have been supporting people and giving them the vital opportunity to socialise with others who have or are affected by diabetes.
Attendees have heard from a diverse range of speakers over the years, from dietitians and podiatrists to hand bell-ringers and even a space detective. And the line up for 2018 is just as exciting, with a fire officer and alpaca farmer booked for next year.
The group is still run by two founding members, Sue Ingham, pictured above, centre, with Bridget Clark, left. Sue also celebrated receiving her Alan Nabarro medal for living with diabetes for 50 years, which was presented by Doctor Martin at the group's special anniversary party.
