CSG 7: NIHR CRN: Children/BSPED diabetes and endocrinology

CSG 7 aims to improve our understanding of diabetes in children and young adults. This is a joint CSG with the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) and the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN). It will consider all aspects of diabetes in children and young adults.

If you would like to share your views with CSG 7 on where research into children’s diabetes should be focussed, please get in touch:

Dr Carlo Acerini, University of Cambridge

Chair: Dr Carlo Acerini, University of Cambridge

Dr Acerini’s research focusses on the development of new therapeutic approaches to the management of Type 1 diabetes in childhood and adolescence. This includes work on the development of open and affordable closed loop insulin delivery (Artificial Pancreas) systems and exploration of the use of adjunctive therapies for the improvement of insulin sensitivity and the avoidance of complications in Type 1 diabetes.

Who's involved?
