For 674 days, Tesco colleagues up and down the country did something extraordinary. Whether it was selling books, climbing mountains, jumping from planes or donning wigs, everyone pulled together to raise an absolutely staggering £18.6 million for Diabetes UK.
Thanks to you and your incredible fundraising efforts, a real difference has already been made to children and adults with diabetes and will continue to be made for years to come. From the bottom of our hearts thank you – you have been our Everyday Heroes.

More than 320,000 people in the UK have Type 1 diabetes, but there is currently no cure. Thanks to Team Tesco we’ve been able to dedicate £4 million to boost research for a Type 1 diabetes vaccine. Find out more about the research.
Our biggest-ever awareness campaign
Thanks to your fundraising we were able to reach 80 per cent of UK adults with our Type 2 diabetes awareness campaign. This resulted in over 30,000 online risk assessments so those at moderate or high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes can take steps to reduce their risk.
Our traveling Know Your Risk Roadshow provides a safe and welcoming setting for people to find out more about diabetes, their risk of Type 2 and get specialist help from a trained dietitian.
Your commitment to our partnership will enable us to expand our reach and take our Know Your Risk Roadshow to more than 130 locations over the next two years. Find out when our Roadshow will be visiting your area.
WOW what a truly incredible partnership, we could not ask for more. THANK YOU to all Tesco colleagues in shops, offices, distribution centres, dotcoms, pharmacies, fuel stations, opticians and banks – you really are our Everyday Heroes!
The Power of Three
As one partnership ends, a new one begins. We are delighted to continue our work with Tesco and a new partner, the British Heart Foundation.
This ground-breaking partnership aims to raise £30 million to help people eat better, get active, make healthier choices and reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
