Diabetes UK elects new Chair

Diabetes UK is delighted to announce that Professor Simon Howell has been elected as its new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

A trustee for the charity since 1999, Professor Howell (right) has long been immensely supportive of the work of Diabetes UK.

Professor Simon Howell, Diabetes UK Chair said: "I am delighted and honoured to have been elected Chair of an organisation which works to improve the lives of two million people with diabetes in the UK, their families and friends.

"I hope my experience and knowledge will allow me to guide Diabetes UK in its important work and am looking forward to the challenge ahead."

Professor Howell has extensive experience in the field of diabetes-related research and he is currently Professor of Endocrine Physiology and Guy’s Campus Dean at King’s College London.

Diabetes UK is also welcoming John Grumitt as its new Vice-Chair. John Grumitt has been a trustee of the charity since 2003. John Grumitt has Type 1 diabetes.
