Diabetes UK has today launched the most useful diabetes information resource – a brand new website. 

The site has a fresh new design with much improved navigation so people will have accurate and up-to-date information at their fingertips.

The impressive amount of content has been updated and refined.  The number of downloads has been reduced and overall the site has become much more interesting and interactive.

Additional features include: a more powerful search facility dedicated searches for certain areas of the site, such as finding your local support group by postcode more information about services and events in your local area an interactive recipe section a new store tour, which helps with food shopping and menu planning. 

“This is a huge step towards making information more accessible to the two million people with diabetes and thousands of healthcare professionals," said Dawn Jackson, Director of Marketing at Diabetes UK.

"Most people with diabetes only see their healthcare professional for a few hours a year, so they need further information and support.  We are confident the new site will go some way towards providing this vital additional support.”

The current site receives over 250,000 unique users a month, including people with diabetes, their friends, families and carers, and healthcare professionals. 

Further plans for the site include online an conference booking and sales facility, online sales, message boards, user-generated content and targeted micro sites for children and teenagers.
