Rod Stewart’s daughter, model Kimberly Stewart, has launched Specsavers Opticians search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2007 – and Specsavers will donate £1 to Diabetes UK for every eligible entry received.
The competition, now in its 11th year, is free to enter and is open to all spec wearers between the ages of 16 and 30.
Twelve regional winners will then attend a star-studded awards ceremony at London’s Waldorf Hilton Hotel on 9 October.
As reported in March, Specsavers chose Diabetes UK to be its charity partner for 2007 onwards and aims to raise not only funds but also awareness of eye care and diabetic retinopathy.
During Diabetes Week, Specsaver stores across the nation will be holding fundraising days, and throughout all of June stores will also make a donation to Diabetes UK for every eye examination carried out.
Entry forms are available in all Specsaver stores (call 0800 0680 241 to find your nearest) or you can enter online atwww.specsavers.co.uk/enter where you can also vote for your favourite celebrity spec wearer.
