The nomination forms for Diabetes UK's Annual Professional Conference Named Lecture Awards are now up online and ready to be completed.
If you feel that a colleague, or somebody you have worked with in some capacity in the past, deserves the chance to deliver one of the lectures at our Annual Professional Conference (APC) 2009, take a look at the different types of lectures (found top right) and put their name forward.
These lectures form the backbone of Diabetes UK's APC and are the main attraction for a large number of attendees.
Far apart from being the ultimate platform from which to disseminate information about recent developments in research or progressive thinking about healthcare to a large live audience, the lectures are also considered to be one of the highest accolades for anyone working in diabetes care.
The list of previous lecturers reads like a hall of fame of diabetes care. It shows that over the years the APC has attracted talks from some of the most revolutionary and forward-thinking doctors, nurses, team leaders and researchers.
The charity cannot really take full credit for this, however. All the speakers are decided through nominations from our members, which are then voted on in an election by our Professional Advisory Council. This means that without input and suggestions, the lectures simply wouldn’t exist.
This year, with the new online submission system, the process is easier than ever before, and will prove the ideal chance for you to get involved.
