Celebrity medium David Wells hosts Brighton Fright Night

David Wells, celebrity medium and star of Living TV’s cult Most Haunted show, is coming to Brighton for a paranormal night of ghost hunting in spooky Preston Manor.

On Saturday 8 November from 7.30pm until 2am the following morning, the 17th century manor house will be taken over by David and sixty sponsored thrill-seekers – all in aid of Diabetes UK.

David will guide the participants around the old Manor House, which dates back to the 1600s. The group will experience the atmosphere of the Edwardian gentry abode before venturing into the early 20th century part of the house for a rare insight into life during those turbulent years. And who knows who might join them – after all, tales of ghostly sightings and supernatural experiences at Preston Manor go back through history.

One of the very spookiest

Visitors have reported sightings of Sister Agnes, the medieval nun who helps travellers on their way, a disembodied hand floating by a four-poster bed and the elegant Lady in Grey who descends the grand staircase with nowhere to go. One friendly ghost was even seen trying out a child's toy tractor during the 1960s and more recently doors have been said to lock themselves and lights turn off for no reason.

“This is going to be one of the spookiest Fright Nights yet,” says David. “Preston Manor is well-known as one of the most haunted places in the UK and people taking part will soak up this atmosphere as we go on our ghost hunt. Come prepared with nerves of steel! It’s all for Diabetes UK – a cause close to my heart as members of my family have the serious condition.”

Raising spirits and funds

Penny January, Fundraising Manager for Diabetes UK South East, adds: “There are 2.3 million people in the UK with diabetes and more than 500,000 who have the condition but don’t know it. We are delighted to be working with David Wells to raise vital funds to help people living with diabetes. We only have a limited number of places for the event so get in touch now to avoid disappointment.”

Event details

Tickets for the event cost £50 and each participant is asked to raise as much sponsorship for Diabetes UK as they can. The participant who raises the most sponsorship will receive a one off past life regression session with David Wells.
