Diabetes UK would like to say a huge thank you to its 207 runners who rose to the challenge of the Flora London Marathon 2008 on Sunday 13 April.
Braving the cold, the rain, and the occasional hail shower, our amazing Diabetes UK runners covered an incredible 5,423.4 miles and are on target to raise a fantastic amount of money.
But this does not come close to reflecting all the hard work and enthusiasm they put in before the big day itself and Diabetes UK would like to thank them and congratulate them for their efforts.
Raising vital funds
Dominic Hourd, Events Manager, said: "We were overwhelmed by the effort and dedication from this year's marathon runners. Our runners are set to beat last year's amount and raise £300,000 for Diabetes UK, but they have also helped raise our profile to thousands of other people. We would like to thank all our runners and their families and friends who have supported them."
Take our runners’ word for it that it really is an incredible experience:
Bob, Diabetes UK London Marathon 2008 runner, said: "Running the London marathon is an incredible experience and I was very proud to run for Diabetes UK. The support on the day itself and in the months leading up the London Marathon was really appreciated and made it an enjoyable and worthwhile.
