To help families stay active this summer, Change4Life is launching their Get Going this summer campaign to motivate children and parents to take part in more sport and activities during the school holidays.
The new campaign gives families the tools and information they need – including top tips, new ideas, recipes and games – to make the most of the warm long days of summer and stay physically active, while spending more time together as a family.
The Get Going this summer campaign comes at a time when children are at home during the school holidays, and likely to spend more time sitting on the sofa watching television or playing on the computer.
According to Change4Life, children aged 5 to 16 need to do at least sixty minutes a day of physical activity that gets their hearts beating faster than usual, and adults need at least 150 minutes a week. The campaign encourages family fitness as a way to get everyone moving more and have fun at the same time.
