Diabetes UK, using funding from Bupa, has launchedType 2 Diabetes and Me– an interactive online e-learning programme to help people with Type 2 diabetes understand and manage their diabetes successfully.

The new site provides sections on:
- What Type 2 diabetes is and how to treat the condition, including glucose monitoring, medication, insulin, health information and the care to expect
- Information on living with diabetes, including holidays, employment, driving, leading a healthy lifestyle, maintaining a balanced diet and physical activity
- Details of possible health complications from Type 2 diabetes and to how reduce the risk of developing them.
"Dip in and out as you please"
Tracy Kelly, Diabetes UK’s Head of Care, said, "We know that some people struggle to manage every aspect of their diabetes all of the time, especially when newly diagnosed, so the course breaks down those aspects into small, easily digestible chunks, presented in five distinct sections.
"People who register for the course can dip in and out as they please, completing each section in their own time."
Developed primarily for people newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, the tool is also a useful refresher for anyone living with Type 2. It can also be used by family members or friends who want to know more about how to live with the condition.
