Diabetes UK is delighted that Ronnie Campbell, MP for Blyth Valley has shown his commitment to Get Serious about diabetes by signing up to the campaign.
By offering his support, Mr Campbell has joined more than 5,000 other Get Serious supporters across the UK, in helping us achieve our mission to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
When asked why he wanted to Get Serious for Diabetes UK, Ronnie told us that one of his colleagues had recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He said, "I am really pleased to be supporting such a fantastic campaign, especially with the recent news about my colleague.
"Diabetes is one of the biggest health challenges facing the UK, and it is vital we make commitments to improving healthcare and making diabetes a top priority."
Why Get Serious?
There are currently 2.5 million people living with diabetes in the UK and half a million who have Type 2 diabetes but don’t know it. By 2025, it is estimated that more than 4 million people will have the condition.
This is why we need your help to Get Serious now. All we need is your name and email address.
