Boots and Diabetes UK have been working together since 2013 to help people across the UK and Republic of Ireland assess their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes through the Know Your Risk online tool.
With 12.3 million at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes the Know Your Risk tool helps people understand their risk of developing the condition. The tool considers the seven key factors including those that can’t be changed such as age, ethnicity, and family history and those that can be changed such as weight, waist circumference and blood pressure.
If a person has a moderate or high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes Boots signposts them to their GP or pharmacist for further support and advice on how to manage their risk of developing the condition. To date, over 33,000 Know Your Risk completions have been done through our partnership, both online on Boot’s website and in store.
